Renowned Afrobeat sensation, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, famously known as Burna Boy, delivered a sharp retort aimed at his colleague, Brymo, following a recent interview where Brymo indirectly criticized him.
During an appearance on Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by content creator Isbaeu, Brymo made remarks regarding his alleged dispute with Burna Boy.
Brymo accused Burna Boy of appropriating his unreleased song, which he claims served as inspiration for his own tracks, “City Boy” and “I Told You.” In response, Burna Boy used a live freestyle to throw shade at Brymo, suggesting that others should work hard to avoid falling from grace, unlike Brymo.
Unlike Burna Boy, Brymo declared in the interview that he would never mention Burna Boy’s name in any of his tracks. However, Burna Boy, referring to himself as a king, dismissed Brymo’s remarks, stating that some would go to any lengths to criticize him.
Directing his comments towards Brymo, Burna Boy remarked that Brymo only sings Yoruba proverbs in his music. He quipped, “At this point, they do and say anything to get at the KING. Werey dey sing Yoruba proverb music for us when K1 and Saheed Osupa were still leading us in the dance.”
