‘I  have been married for 30 years’ -Peter Obi says as he admonishes Fathers to be tolerant on the fathers day celebration in St Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church Anthony Lagos.

On the 19th of June, 2023, Peter Obi was opportune to visit St Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church Anthony Lagos, where he addressed the congregation on Christian virtues.

Being the Father’s Day celebration, the ex-governor and now presidential aspirant admonished fathers, on the virtues of tolerance and understanding. 

He gave instances of how he had applied these virtues in his current marriage of 30 years and how productive it has turned out to be. In one of his examples, he mentioned that like most men, it took him roughly 5 minutes to get ready for an occasion but this was not the case for his wife. 

Just like many other women Mrs. Obi spends about an hour getting ready for an occasion. As a result, Peter Obi mentioned that he has conditioned himself to dedicate this extra hour to his wife. He re-emphasizes that all it takes is love, tolerance, patience, and understanding to make a marriage work.

He concluded by stating that no marriage was perfect. Misunderstanding would be encountered occasionally but these virtues come to play in resolving these challenges. Finally, he urged fathers to take their roles seriously and understand how to manage situations. 

It was indeed an edifying session for the congregation at St Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church Anthony Lagos.
