Celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest finds himself embroiled in yet another messy land dispute, this time with the Imo State government.
The saga began when Obi Cubana allegedly acquired land at a discounted rate from a former aide to the Imo State Governor who had been dismissed. Despite Obi Cuabana’s efforts to convince the governor that the purchase was legitimate, the government remains unconvinced.
Reports suggest that the Chief Priest took advantage of the dismissal of the governor’s aide, who was involved in the sale of government-owned lands. He negotiated with the former aide to obtain land at significantly reduced prices.
However, when the Chief Priest attempted to develop the purchased land, the Imo State Government intervened, asserting that the land rightfully belonged to the state.
In an attempt to prove his case, the Chief Priest presented receipts of his transactions with the sacked aide to the governor. However, this only seemed to aggravate the situation, with the governor accusing the Chief Priest of colluding with the dismissed staff to defraud the state.
Despite the governor’s previous support for the Chief Priest, he now appears skeptical of the Chief Priest’s intentions, alleging that the Chief Priest aimed to exploit his proximity to the government for personal gain.
In a heated exchange, the governor challenged the Chief Priest to provide evidence of legitimate land purchases, insisting that only transactions conducted through official government channels would be recognized.
