Nigerian singer Niniola was overcome with emotion as she paid a touching tribute to her late husband, Michael Ndika, during his service of songs held on Thursday.

The emotional gathering brought together family members, close friends, colleagues, and well-wishers who came to celebrate the life of the respected music executive and entrepreneur. The event served as a moment of reflection and remembrance following the announcement of Ndika’s passing in May.

As she stood before mourners, Niniola struggled to hold back tears while speaking about the man she described as her greatest supporter, closest companion, and strongest pillar of strength.

According to Niniola, her late husband was much more than a spouse. He was her confidant, adviser, business partner, and unwavering source of encouragement.

Speaking emotionally during the ceremony, she revealed how deeply his love and support influenced her life and career.

“Michael did everything for me. He was breathing for me. He loved me so much. I learnt so much from him,” she said.

Her voice trembled as she recalled the impact he had on her growth as an artist and as a person.

One of the most touching moments of her tribute came when she shared a promise Michael made shortly after they met.

According to the singer, he confidently told her that he would one day make her a superstar.

At the time, she may not have fully understood the significance of those words, but looking back today, she believes he fulfilled that promise.

“When he met me, he said, ‘I will make you a superstar,’” she recalled.

Niniola explained that Michael consistently believed in her talent and potential, often encouraging her to pursue her dreams even during difficult moments.

She described him as the engine that kept her moving forward and credited him with providing the motivation she needed throughout her journey in the entertainment industry.

The singer also spoke about the simple but meaningful routines they shared as a couple.

She revealed that Michael was the first person she saw every morning and the last person she saw before going to bed each night.

Those daily moments, she said, became an important part of her life and are now memories she will cherish forever.

“Michael was my engine. He was the first person I saw in the morning and the last person at night,” she said.

The emotional tribute offered fans a rare glimpse into a relationship that had largely been kept away from public attention.

Many people were surprised when news of Michael Ndika’s death became public because few knew that he and Niniola were married.

The couple reportedly spent 13 years together, maintaining a private relationship despite Niniola’s status as one of Nigeria’s most popular music stars.

In previous social media posts following his passing, the singer described Michael as her best friend, provider, business partner, and confidant.

She admitted that she still struggles to accept the reality of his absence and often finds herself expecting him to walk through the door as he always did.

Her messages of grief resonated with many fans who understood the profound pain that comes with losing a loved one.

Michael Ndika was widely respected within the entertainment industry.

As the Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform focused on African music and entertainment, he played an important role in promoting artists and supporting the growth of the industry.

His work earned him recognition among music professionals and media stakeholders alike.

Although his cause of death has not been publicly disclosed, tributes have continued to pour in from colleagues, friends, and admirers who remember him for his contributions and kindness.

The service of songs marked the beginning of a series of events organized in his honour.

According to details released by Niniola and her family, the programme will continue with a funeral Mass scheduled for Friday.

The emotional gathering served not only as a farewell but also as a celebration of a life that touched many people.

For Niniola, the occasion was a painful reminder of the void left behind by the man she shared more than a decade of her life with.

Yet amid the tears and sorrow, her tribute also reflected gratitude for the memories, love, and support Michael gave her throughout their years together.

As condolences continue to pour in from fans and colleagues around the world, many have praised the singer’s strength during this difficult period.
