Most people don’t really know the reason why I act the way I do. Sometimes, they feel I am simply being irrational when making decisions, but who wouldn’t, going through everything I did in the arms of my ‘loving’ boyfriend.
“Aisha, you don’t think on your feet”, was what I always heard, each time we had a misunderstanding, I was always the dumb one, I was the stupid one, I was the one who didn’t know how to act right, not ever.
Though it wasn’t always like this. Before things got sour between us, we were always dotting on each other. We literally couldn’t live without each other, but all these changed that very day he went out together…
Just before that fateful day, I would always think about the very first day we met. I was definitely a mess that day. In fact, I never knew that very day would be the beginning of the rest of life, emotionally. It was lunchtime at work, and since I practically spent the better part of my day at work, and even at weekends, I preferred going out to eat, rather than ordering a meal online.
Just as if my heart knew something was to happen that day, I decided not to eat at my regular fast food. There was a particular fast food I had in mind to try out, so I finally choose to have a taste of what they offer. After being agitated at work by my junior colleague, I had no time for little talks. I swiftly walked to the counter and placed my eat-in order.
I felt something wet drip down my arm and glanced at it to see the reason why. I noticed there was a little child who was drooling over her mother’s shoulder and immediately alerted her mum about the little inconvenience. (Don’t judge me, but I’m not really into children). She apologized and tried to clean up the mess her child had made, while I was still waiting for my order, I heard a voice behind me, completing the little black dress I wore that day.
I didn’t look back to see the face but I knew it belonged to a guy, so I simply looked over my shoulder and replied. Apparently, he was pissed by that and decided to tap me from behind. When I turned to look at him, he said; “I just complimented your look”. I then replied…
