Vice President Kashim Shettima envisions Nigeria emerging as a dominant economic force on the global stage under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to fostering an unparalleled business environment, Shettima emphasized empowering local and international investors to thrive.
Speaking from his office at the Presidential Villa during a meeting with a delegation from the Commonwealth Enterprise Investment Council (CWEIC), led by CEO Rosie Glazerbrook, Shettima outlined the administration’s strategies.
These include leveraging the digital skills of the country’s youth, enhancing electricity infrastructure, and fostering production in the manufacturing sectors.
Moreover, Shettima assured a delegation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) of the government’s collaboration with the National Assembly to review the CWEIC.
This step aims to align ICAN‘s practices with global standards and international best practices.
In his address to the CWEIC delegation, Shettima reiterated the administration’s commitment to harnessing Nigeria’s demographic dividend for sustainable progress.
He emphasized President Tinubu’s pro-business background and assured that the government is dedicated to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, regardless of their origin.
Anticipating Nigeria’s pivotal role in global growth projections, Shettima projected a trajectory of exponential economic growth.
He emphasized Nigeria’s potential as the third most populous country by 2050 and predicted that the country’s economy could become the third largest in the world by 2075.
This, he stressed, underscores the significance of Africa’s role in shaping global dynamics, with Nigeria poised to lead the continent’s economic resurgence.
