Special Spesh, Davido’s hypeman accuses the Grammy Awards organisers of silencing African artists throughout the awards.
Spesh implied that non-African artists were not given their due place and awards in the Grammy Awards except for Tyla who has just won her first award ever in Grammy history. Many Africans and Nigerians implied that Nigerians were snubbed. Spesh expressed that Africans will not relinquish the power of Afrobeat to non-Africans.
In a bid to encourage his boss, Spesh mentioned that Africans will not give up on Afrobeat nor give outsiders the power to control Afrobeat, he also announced that Africans will not dumb Afrobeat or anything African
In his words: “We won’t give you the power to dumb Afrobeats down or Afrofusion or anything African!
That’s (white) America’s problem! When things start to take over and get massive they always want a part then try to have a say then try to control.”
