Former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has backed England to narrowly defeat Norway in what promises to be one of the biggest quarter-final matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“I think that England probably has just an edge over them,” he said.

Troost-Ekong also highlighted the battle between England captain Harry Kane and Norwegian superstar Erling Haaland as one of the biggest talking points ahead of the match.

“For Kane and Haaland, I think it’s going to be a real battle.”
He added:
