The 2019 Headies awards which held yesterday Saturday the 19th of october, at the Eko convention center at the Eko Hotel and Suites Victoria Island had the talented singer and songwriter Teniola Apata popularly known as Teni carting away most of the awards.
Teni alongside Burna boy and Falz won big at the awards. This 13th edition of the headies was hosted by Reminsce and Nancy Isime and was tagged “The power of dreams”
Teni won the best vocal performance(Female) with the song “Uyo Meyo”, Best Recording of the year for the same song. She also won the best Pop Single with her popular song “case” as well as the winner of the Headies viewers choice Awards.
Burna boy won the best music video with his song “Dangote and also won the song of the year category with his song “Ye”. He also came out winner for the Artist of the year category.
Falz also won best Rap single with his song “Talk”. He also won the best Rap album with his song “Moral instruction and Yemi Alade was the winner of the best performer category.
Other categories such as the best R and B single was won by seyi shay’s song “Gimme love” featuring Run Town.
The winner of the best Alternative song category was Johnny Drille with his song “Finding Efe”
