The Nigerian music star, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, later took to social media to explain that nerves got the better of her during the globally televised event.

Tems was among the international artists invited to perform at the dedication ceremony held at the John Lewis Plaza on the 19-acre campus in Chicago.
The event officially marked the launch of the $850 million Obama Presidential Center, which was founded by former U.S. President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama.
