Solomon Buchi, an X influencer has once again drawn the public’s attention to himself by saying that his children will not use mobile phones until they are at the age of 18 and are in the university.
According to him, he and his wife have already made a firm decision that their children will not be exposed so quickly into the world of phones. According to him, most of the negative vices encountered in society today are as a result of quick exposure to the internet and easy access to online activities.
He mentioned that this has caused negative consequences in the core values of the human society and has also fostered a sense of entitlement and inappropriate conduct in the younger children.
He goes on to say that the early psychological breakdown of young children in this generation is as a result of early adoption and ownership to cellphones.
From what is gathered about Buchi and his wife Arike, they are creating a medium through which they can discuss some common issues of early phone adoption in children, its consequences and possible solutions.
He also talked about a home library and other physical skills. The goal is to build their children’s childhood stage around things that do not revolve around the internet.
Buchi hopes that parents can openly criticise the negative effects of early cellphone adoption in children.
