Sharing elegant birthday portraits on Instagram, the veteran actor expressed gratitude for reaching another milestone and embracing the privileges that come with age.

According to him, growing older has helped him become more comfortable with who he is.

“The celebration has just started. Age has its privileges,” he wrote.

“One of them is becoming comfortable in your own skin. The rest is Grace.”

His message quickly attracted thousands of birthday wishes from fans, colleagues, and celebrities who praised him not only for his enduring career but also for his inspiring outlook on life.

“Life Owes Us Nothing”

In another emotional post, RMD reflected deeply on his journey, admitting that life does not owe anyone success or happiness.

Instead, he credited God’s grace for every opportunity, challenge, and victory he has experienced throughout his life.

“65 years of purpose, presence, and grace.

“I’ve lived long enough to know that life owes us nothing.

“Yet, by God’s grace, it has given me everything that truly matters.”

The actor went on to list the blessings that have shaped his life, including the privilege to dream, the courage to begin, the strength to endure difficult moments, the wisdom to evolve, and the grace to remain steadfast.

He also expressed appreciation for everyone who has been part of his journey over the years.

“For every lesson.

“For every season.

“For every soul that has walked this journey with me.

“I am deeply grateful.

“The journey continues.”

Shortly after the posts were shared, social media was flooded with congratulatory messages celebrating RMD’s birthday.

Fans described him as one of Nollywood’s greatest actors, while fellow entertainers praised his professionalism, consistency, and influence on younger generations.

Many also highlighted his humility and ability to remain relevant in the ever-changing Nigerian film industry.

Richard Mofe-Damijo’s journey into entertainment began long before Nollywood became the global industry it is today.

Before becoming an actor, he worked as a journalist, developing strong communication skills that later contributed to his successful screen career.

He first gained national recognition through the popular television series Ripples, where his performances earned widespread admiration.

Over the years, RMD established himself as one of Nollywood’s leading actors, starring in numerous blockbuster productions that have shaped Nigerian cinema.

Outside the entertainment industry, RMD also ventured into public service.

Between 2009 and 2015, he served as the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State, contributing to efforts aimed at promoting arts, culture, and tourism within the state.

His ability to balance public service with his entertainment career further strengthened his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most accomplished public figures.

Throughout his career, RMD has appeared in some of Nollywood’s most memorable productions.

His film credits include Out of Bounds, Diamond Ring, The Wedding Party, The Wedding Party 2, Three Wise Men, Love Is War, Fine Wine, The Black Book, and Radio Voice.

In recent years, he has continued to impress audiences with standout performances in television series such as Castle & Castle, King of Boys: The Return of the King, Shanty Town, and Far From Home.

He is also expected to appear in the highly anticipated film adaptation of Children of Blood and Bone, further cementing his status as one of Africa’s most celebrated actors.

RMD’s birthday reflection struck a chord with many people because it focused less on fame and more on gratitude, resilience, and purpose.

At 65, the veteran actor continues to inspire millions through both his work and his outlook on life, proving that success is measured not only by achievements but also by growth, character, and the lives touched along the way.
