In a surprising revelation, Grammy Award-winning sensation Wizkid recently took to his Instagram stories to address misconceptions surrounding his musical identity.
Contrary to widespread belief, the acclaimed artist made it clear that he does not align himself with the Afrobeats genre.
“Please don’t download my album if you’re into Afrobeats. I am not an Afrobeats artiste, I am not Afro anything,” Wizkid boldly declared, challenging assumptions about his musical categorization.
In a subtle caution to fans longing for his earlier works, particularly the nostalgic track ‘Pakurumo’ from his debut album ‘Superstar,’ Wizkid advised them to approach his upcoming album with caution.
Furthermore, the multi-talented musician revealed the title of his highly anticipated album: ‘Morayo.’ This meaningful choice serves as a tribute to his late mother, reflecting the profound personal significance imbued within the project.
Describing ‘Morayo’ as “the best I ever made,” Wizkid alludes to the magnitude of the forthcoming release.
