Relationship coach and lead pastor of David’s Christian Centre, Kingsley Okonkwo, has launched a new Christian matchmaking platform designed to help singles find intentional, faith-based relationships that could lead to marriage.

The platform, known as Mentor To Marry, offers annual membership plans ranging from N70,000 to N700,000 and combines relationship mentoring with matchmaking services.

Okonkwo announced the platform in a series of posts on X on Wednesday, encouraging Christian singles who are serious about marriage to join the community.

Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo speaks on modern relationships

While promoting the platform, Okonkwo expressed concern about what he described as the increasing commercialisation of relationships.

He said the changing expectations surrounding dating and marriage have made it difficult for some young men to find genuine romantic connections.

“I feel for the men of this generation….relationships have been so commercialized nowadays that its almost impossible for a young man to find true love,” he wrote.

In another post, the relationship coach compared modern dating expectations with what he experienced when he was younger.

“When we were young, all you had to get was a girls phone number but now all they want to send is their account number,” he said.

He added that some men are now expected to pay expenses such as rent, school fees and transportation before being taken seriously in relationships.

However, Okonkwo later clarified that he was not suggesting that all women approach relationships for financial reasons.

He said there are many women who genuinely desire meaningful relationships with serious Christian men.

“I can assure you that not all women are in relationship for business, there are a lot of good women looking to connect with serious godly men on our platform,” he stated.

How Mentor To Marry works

Unlike conventional dating platforms, Mentor To Marry places considerable emphasis on relationship education and preparation.

According to the platform, prospective members begin with eight weeks of mentoring classes, assessments and guided reflection.

After completing the initial stage, members can gain access to recommendations and introductions depending on the membership package they choose.

The platform is designed to encourage singles to approach marriage intentionally rather than simply focusing on casual dating or social connections.

Members can create profiles and interact with other eligible Christian singles while receiving guidance throughout the process.

Three membership plans available

Mentor To Marry currently offers three main membership categories: Regular, Premium and VIP.

The Regular plan costs N70,000 annually and provides eight weeks of mentoring classes, assessments, limited profile access, an accountability system, five weekly chats and access to a country-based matching pool.

The Premium plan costs N350,000 annually. Members receive unlimited profile browsing, monthly profile recommendations, priority access to coaches, access to global profiles, 10 weekly chats and private groups.

The most expensive option is the VIP plan, which costs N700,000 annually.

VIP members receive a dedicated matchmaker and coach, priority access to the platform’s founders, 15 weekly chats, off-platform introductions and profile protection.

Membership does not guarantee marriage

Despite the different membership packages, Mentor To Marry makes it clear that paying for membership does not guarantee that a person will find a partner.

The platform states that membership does not guarantee a match, mutual interest or marriage.

This means members are paying for access to mentoring, matchmaking services and other features rather than purchasing a guaranteed relationship outcome.

The platform is open to Christians aged 25 and above.

Participants must identify as Christians and must be unmarried, divorced or widowed to take part in the matchmaking services.

Members are also required to provide truthful information about their identity and marital status.

Safety rules for members

Mentor To Marry has also established rules intended to protect members from potentially harmful behaviour.

The platform prohibits sexual harassment, exploitation, abuse, fraud, catfishing, sexually explicit content and financial exploitation.

These restrictions are particularly important for online matchmaking communities, where users may interact with people they have never met in person.

The platform encourages members to provide accurate information and behave respectfully toward other participants.

Kingsley and Mildred Okonkwo among founders

Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo and his wife, Mildred Okonkwo, are listed among the founders of Mentor To Marry.

The platform operates under Love, Dating and Marriage Ministries, a non-profit organisation registered in Nigeria.

In addition to its paid membership plans, Mentor To Marry also provides a free singles community.

The free community is intended for people who are interested in marriage but may not yet be ready to enrol in one of the paid packages.

The launch marks another major expansion of Okonkwo’s long-standing work in relationship education and marriage counselling.

With its combination of Christian mentoring, assessments and matchmaking, Mentor To Marry is positioning itself as an alternative for singles who want to approach dating with marriage as the ultimate goal.

As the platform gains attention, its pricing structure and faith-based approach are likely to generate discussions among Christian singles looking for serious relationships.
