It is sad that we live in a society that set certain unrealistic beauty standards. This has come with an unimaginable pressure that has led many, especially the feminine gender, to go through extreme measures in order to meet up with societal standards of beauty. What people fail to understand about this is that society is never satisfied and will always create new standards when one seems over-explored. Beauty, therefore, starts with loving yourself and being confident in your skin and body contours. It furthermore, captures how you love every part of you physically and behaviorally.

Inner beauty goes beyond appreciating these physical attributes. It rather encompasses all your qualities internal and external positive traits such as integrity, compassion, kindness, etc. Inner beauty is, therefore, generally about having a genuine and loving nature that you appreciate and cannot trade for anything else.

5 Tips to Discover Your Inner Beauty

Realize and Acknowledge yourself

Self-acceptance is an important way of discovering your inner beauty. You should know your strength as well as your limitations and be ready to accept them.

Accepting yourself not only gives room for improvement but also gives a sense of satisfaction and contentment. Therefore, making you appreciate yourself and those around you.

Build Healthy and Positive Relationships

It is necessary to surround yourself with positive people who uplift and support you. Be with people that can recognize your inner beauty because relationships are part of our daily lives and bad ones can affect you greatly. It is therefore paramount to seek meaningful connections and friendships that nourish your well-being and encourage personal growth. Being intentional about your attitude to others helps build strong connections which in turn enhances your inner self.

Practice Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence involves being aware and in control of your emotions. It further entails the ability to effectively respond to the emotions of others.

Being in control of your feelings will help in your comportment and your attitude toward others.

Moreover, understanding your emotions makes you self-aware. It motivates you and improves your social skills.

Engage in Activities that Help Enhance Your Inner Beauty

Humans are full of imperfections therefore the need to consistently work on ourselves is inevitable. Self-awareness is an intentional consciousness that keeps us in check. This guides us to understand our weaknesses and develop the willingness to work on them. Inner beauty is not perfection but acceptance of who you are and the willingness to keep bringing out a better version of that person within. Below are some activities that can help you enhance your inner beauty.

Spending time in nature

Nature is therapeutic. While this may not work for everyone, it works for many. Appreciating the little areas in nature’s existence reminds you of perfection. Take some time out. Visit the beach, a resort in the mountains, explore wildlife and be adventurous. It will surprise you to see how fulfilling this would be.

Journaling

Journaling here does not refer to the professional digging in for information. It is rather a window of communication between you, yourself, and your creator. Have you ever owned a secret or personal little book where you communicate with yourself? That is Journaling. It is a good way to examine yourself and be truthful about your flaws and strengths. Journaling helps you reflect on your successes, work on your flaws, and appreciate your personality. It is great for self-assessment.

Engaging in hobbies

When you do things that make you happy, you feel good about yourself. Hobbies are great ways to keep your mind focused on things that matter and away from things that don’t. When you do things you love, you appreciate yourself more and pay less attention to what society calls “imperfections”.

Learning new skills

One of the greatest achievements in life is the ability to add value. To add value to others, however, you need to add value to yourself first. Skills make you better and place you in a position to offer more to your society. Values and achievements swallow flaws and enhance attraction.

Involving in active communication

Communication is key. Good communication brings healing to the soul and spreads positivity. Feel free to communicate your feelings with people you love and trust. Whenever you feel insecure, be open about it. As the popular saying goes “A problem shared is a problem solved”. However, be careful who you share your problems with.

These activities will help you connect with yourself on a deeper level. They help you to discover more about yourself, thereby,  giving you peace of mind, which is an attribute of your inner beauty.

Understand Your Personal Values and Beliefs

Understanding your core values and beliefs will help mold your character. Work on aligning your values with your actions.

Your inner beauty reflects your mindset and belief. This allows you to connect to the right people who share similar values with you. For instance, if you believe that everybody deserves to be loved, you will automatically exude tenderness and love. In return, you attract people who share this value. In a nutshell, know what you believe in and stand by it!

Conclusion

It is key to note that exploring your inner beauty is a lifelong process. It requires dedication and commitment. You should, therefore, be willing to grow and evolve as an individual. By discovering your inner qualities, you can cultivate a deep sense of self-worth, self-confidence, and fulfillment.

Nigerian music industry is mourning the loss of one of its cultural giants. Alhaji Ismaila Dele Bello, popularly known as Ahuja Bello, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the age of 83. His son, Adetunji Bello, confirmed the sad news, revealing that the juju legend died peacefully in his sleep—just a day after celebrating his birthday. For many Nigerians, especially those who lived through the golden era of the 1970s and 1980s, the name Ahuja Bello evokes nostalgia. His music was the sound of celebration, a rhythm that echoed at weddings, naming ceremonies, and late-night parties. His passing is not only a personal loss for his family but also a cultural one for Nigeria’s rich musical heritage. Born on August 24, 1942, in Iseyin, Oyo State, Ahuja Bello was destined for music. Juju, a genre deeply rooted in Yoruba tradition, became the canvas on which he painted his artistry. Unlike many who treated music as a side hustle, Bello embraced it as a calling. By the mid-1970s, Bello had carved a niche for himself with his energetic stage performances, rich guitar work, and soulful lyrics. He was not just a performer; he was an experience. Fans adored his ability to connect with the crowd, blending traditional Yoruba rhythms with modern influences that kept his sound refreshing and timeless. Yet, Ahuja Bello held his ground, building a loyal following that admired his originality and charisma. His concerts were more than entertainment—they were community gatherings. Every strum of his guitar carried messages of joy, resilience, and cultural pride. For many families, his songs became the soundtrack of their most memorable life events. One of the highlights of his career was his encounter with reggae icon Bob Marley during a trip to London. Though brief, this meeting symbolized the global relevance of Nigerian music long before the Afrobeats wave. Bello’s artistry showed that African sounds had the power to resonate beyond borders. Tragedy struck in 1982, when Ahuja Bello was involved in a serious accident. At the time, he was at the height of his career, commanding large crowds and dominating the juju scene. The accident slowed his performances and significantly altered his musical journey. For many musicians, such a setback might have marked the end. But Bello’s earlier contributions had already etched his name into Nigerian music history. Even though his stage appearances became limited, his influence continued. His recordings lived on, and his legacy inspired younger artists who admired his dedication to the craft. The death of Ahuja Bello is not just the passing of a man—it is the closing of a chapter in Nigeria’s musical story. His life represents an era when juju music carried social messages, celebrated culture, and served as a unifying force for communities. For older generations, Bello’s passing feels deeply personal. His music was woven into everyday life, from radio airwaves to live performances at social gatherings. For younger Nigerians, his story is a reminder of the roots of contemporary Nigerian music, proving that today’s Afrobeats giants stand on the shoulders of pioneers like him. As tributes pour in, fans, fellow musicians, and cultural associations describe Bello as a cultural custodian who never lost sight of his Yoruba identity. His songs celebrated resilience and tradition, ensuring that juju music remained relevant through the decades. Even in death, Bello’s music continues to breathe life into celebrations. His legacy shows that while people may pass, music remains immortal. Every strum of a juju guitar, every drumbeat at a Yoruba gathering, and every nostalgic radio replay will continue to carry Ahuja Bello’s spirit. The passing of Ahuja Bello at 83 is both a moment of mourning and a celebration of a life well lived. From Iseyin to international stages, from local dance halls to cultural milestones, Bello gave Nigerians more than music—he gave them memories. Though his journey was interrupted by tragedy, his impact remains unshaken. His career serves as a reminder that legacy is not measured by longevity alone but by the footprints left on culture. As Nigeria reflects on his contributions, one truth becomes clear: Ahuja Bello may have taken his final bow, but the music never ends. Rest in peace, Ahuja Bello. The juju lives on.
