The mortal remains of the late CEO of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe, along with his wife and son, have been repatriated to Nigeria for their final resting place.
The Wigwe family’s bodies arrived at the Port Harcourt International Airport in Rivers State on Friday, March 8, 2024, following their tragic demise in a helicopter crash in the United States on February 9. Herbert Wigwe, aged 57, his wife, Chizoba, and their son, Chizi, lost their lives in the unfortunate incident, which also claimed the life of Mr. Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the former President of the Nigeria Exchange Group.
As the nation mourns their loss, tributes and accolades for Herbert Wigwe continue to pour in, with admirers reflecting on his impactful life.
The funeral service for the Wigwe family is scheduled to take place on Saturday in Isiokpo, Herbert Wigwe’s hometown in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State. The late Wigwe continues to be honored by various personalities who pay their respects to his memory.
