Doris Ogala Risks Arrest after failing to appear in court for the second consecutive time in a cybercrime case involving popular cleric Chris Okafor.
The Nollywood actress is facing multiple allegations under Nigeria’s Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Amendment Act, 2024. Her absence at the latest court hearing has raised concerns about the progress of the case and prompted prosecutors to warn that an arrest warrant could be sought if she fails to attend the next session.
The Federal High Court in Lagos was expected to proceed with the arraignment of actress Doris Ogala on Tuesday.
However, the proceedings were stalled after she failed to appear before the court for the second time.
The development has further delayed the case, which was initially scheduled for arraignment months ago.
Justice Akintayo Aluko granted another adjournment after hearing submissions from both the defence and prosecution teams.

During the hearing, defence counsel N.C. Atulomah informed the court that Ogala was receiving medical treatment at a Federal Medical Centre.
According to the lawyer, the actress was unable to attend because of health-related issues and would be present at the next hearing date.
The explanation was presented as the reason for requesting another adjournment.
Despite the assurance, prosecutors expressed reservations about the medical excuse presented before the court.
The Federal Government has filed a four-count charge against the actress following a police investigation and legal review by the Directorate of Public Prosecutions of the Federation.
The charges reportedly include:
Authorities allege that Doris Ogala engaged in conduct amounting to cyberstalking against Pastor Chris Okafor.
Doris is also accused of using online platforms to engage in cyberbullying activities directed at the cleric.
Court documents allege that she circulated false information relating to the pastor between September 2024 and March 2026.
The charge sheet further claims that she attempted to extort the religious leader during the period under investigation.
It is important to note that these allegations remain unproven, as the actress has not yet entered a plea in court.
Prosecuting counsel Tolulope Mokolu questioned the defence’s explanation for Ogala’s continued absence.
According to him, documents before the court indicated that the actress had already been discharged from medical care and was receiving outpatient treatment.
The prosecutor also noted that she had recently participated in a political party primary election, suggesting she was capable of appearing in court.
While agreeing to the adjournment, Mokolu warned that he would seek a bench warrant for her arrest if she fails to attend the next hearing.
This warning has intensified public interest in the case and increased pressure on the actress to appear before the court.

The legal battle stems from a long-running public dispute between Doris Ogala and Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Grace Nation International.
Earlier this year, a Lagos High Court issued an interim order restraining Doris Ogala and Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, from making further public statements regarding Okafor and his ministry pending the outcome of a civil suit.
The court action followed a series of public exchanges and allegations that attracted significant attention on social media.
The case remains at the arraignment stage and has yet to move into full trial proceedings.
With two missed court appearances already recorded, attention is now focused on whether Ogala will attend the next hearing date.
Should she fail to appear again without a satisfactory explanation, prosecutors have indicated they may request a bench warrant compelling her appearance before the court.
Doris Ogala Risks Arrest as legal proceedings in the cybercrime case involving Pastor Chris Okafor continue to face delays.
While the allegations against the actress remain unproven, her repeated absence from court has become a major issue in the case. The next hearing could prove crucial in determining whether the matter proceeds to arraignment or takes a more dramatic legal turn with the possibility of an arrest warrant.
