During the late hours of October 31st tragedy struck Davido and Chioma as their only son Ifeanyi reportedly drowned to de@th. This tragedy occurred in the swimming pool of their home on Banana Island.
Davido and Chioma had traveled to Ibadan for a family event leaving their son, Ifeanyi in the care of well-paid minders. However, upon their return on the 31st of October, they were struck with the news their 3-year-old son Ifeanyi’s de@th.
Reports have it that Ifeanyi was under his Nanny’s care when the tragedy occurred. He had slipped away when she took a few minutes to take a phone call. Upon realizing his absence the Nanny, chef, and other minders began searching for him. It was over 20 minutes before the security guard spotted him in the pool.
Ifeanyi was rushed to Evercare/Lagoon hospital where he was confirmed BID (Brought in De@d). His body currently lies in the mortuary. Reports also have it that an autopsy will be carried out to determine/confirm the cause of his d**th. Meanwhile, the domestic workers on duty have been arrested and are being interrogated for further details.
It is sad that Ifeanyi had just celebrated his third birthday on the 20 of October 2022. Pictures of the handsome young boy had graced the internet and his happily engaged parents had celebrated him so well. On his birthday, Davido had written
“I pray with all my heart that God grants you perfect health and pure happiness for as long as humanly possible. You will grow to be greater than me. Happy birthday son”
With the great news of Davido and Chioma’s engagement closely followed by Ifeanyi’s birthday, no one foresaw this great tragedy ahead. Indeed it was a black Monday, a sorrowful way to end the month and a sad launch into a new month. We pray this family finds consolation and May God give them hope in this difficult time.
