Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has achieved another major career milestone, becoming the African artiste with the highest number of entries on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States.

The achievement comes after his latest collaboration with Colombian superstar Shakira, titled Dai Dai, debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. The song entered the chart at number 75, pushing Burna Boy’s total number of Hot 100 entries to nine and breaking his previous tie with fellow Nigerian Grammy winner Tems.

Before the latest chart update, Burna Boy and Tems were tied with eight Billboard Hot 100 entries each, making them the joint African record holders. However, the success of Dai Dai has now placed Burna Boy alone at the top of the list.

The song Dai Dai has enjoyed significant global attention since its release as one of the official songs associated with the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Interest in the track increased even further after Burna Boy and Shakira performed it during the tournament’s opening ceremony. The performance exposed the song to millions of viewers worldwide and helped drive streaming numbers, downloads, and radio airplay.

As a result, the song secured a place on the Billboard Hot 100, one of the world’s most influential music charts.

The achievement further demonstrates Burna Boy’s growing influence beyond Africa and highlights the increasing global popularity of Afrobeats music.

Burna Boy’s journey on the Billboard Hot 100 has been marked by consistency and international collaborations.

His first major breakthrough on the chart came through collaborations with global artists, before eventually earning success with his own songs.

Over the years, the singer has steadily expanded his presence on the chart through a combination of solo releases and high-profile partnerships.

His Billboard Hot 100 entries include:

  • Loved By You (2021)
  • Last Last (2022)
  • Sittin’ On Top Of The World (2023)
  • Talibans II (2023)
  • Just Like Me (2024)
  • We Pray (2024)
  • WGFT (2025)
  • Only You (2026)
  • Dai Dai (2026)

These entries reflect his ability to remain relevant in a highly competitive global music industry.

In addition to setting a new African record, Burna Boy has also achieved another remarkable milestone.

The singer is now the first African artiste to chart at least one song on the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive years.

This accomplishment highlights his longevity and consistency as an international recording artist.

Maintaining a presence on the Billboard Hot 100 year after year is considered one of the strongest indicators of global commercial success, making Burna Boy’s achievement particularly significant.

Burna Boy’s latest record is another sign of the growing international appeal of Afrobeats.

Over the past decade, Nigerian artists have increasingly gained recognition across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

Artists such as Tems, Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy have helped push African music into mainstream global markets.

Streaming platforms, social media, and international collaborations have played major roles in expanding the reach of the genre.

Fans have taken to social media to celebrate Burna Boy’s achievement, praising his dedication, consistency, and impact on African music.

Many described the milestone as a proud moment for Nigeria and the African music industry as a whole.

The achievement further strengthens Burna Boy’s reputation as one of Africa’s most successful global music exports.

With Dai Dai continuing to gain attention worldwide and the singer remaining active on the international stage, industry observers believe even more chart milestones could be on the horizon.

For now, Burna Boy stands alone as the African artiste with the most Billboard Hot 100 entries, adding yet another historic accomplishment to an already remarkable career.
