Arsenal came from behind to defeat Chelsea 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, September 6, maintaining their perfect start to the Premier League season.
Chelsea stunned the home crowd after Morgan Rogers opened the scoring just 77 seconds into the match. The forward produced a superb volley to give Xabi Alonso’s side an early advantage.
Arsenal responded strongly, taking control of possession and creating sustained pressure as Mikel Arteta’s side searched for an equaliser.
Their persistence paid off in the 25th minute when former Chelsea forward Kai Havertz found the net to bring Arsenal level.
The champions continued to dominate large periods of the game and eventually completed the comeback early in the second half.

Havertz played an important role in the winning goal, cleverly allowing the ball to run through to Martin Ødegaard, who fired Arsenal into a 2-1 lead.
Chelsea refused to surrender and created opportunities of their own. Pedro Neto hit the post before half-time, while late pressure forced Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya into a crucial save to preserve the three points.
The victory means Arsenal have won all three of their Premier League matches this season. They remain level on nine points with Manchester City, although City lead the table on goal difference. Chelsea, meanwhile, remain on six points after suffering their first league defeat of the campaign.
The result also extended Arsenal’s unbeaten run against Chelsea to 12 matches in all competitions, underlining the Gunners’ recent dominance in the London rivalry.
For Alonso, the defeat represents the first setback of his Premier League campaign as Chelsea manager. His side showed attacking ambition but struggled to maintain their intensity and defensive organisation throughout the match.
For Arteta, however, the comeback provided another early indication that Arsenal remain serious contenders for the Premier League title.
