Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been suspended by the Ganduje Ward Executive Council in Kano State’s Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area.
The suspension was announced by the council’s chair, Haruna Gwanjo, during a press conference held in Kano on Monday. Gwanjo stressed that Ganduje, a former governor, must address the corruption allegations stemming from an ongoing case related to dollar bribery.
Ganduje currently faces eight charges brought against him by the state government under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Other individuals implicated in the case include Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, as well as companies such as Lamash Properties Ltd, Safari Textiles Ltd, and Lesage General Enterprises.
These charges include accusations of dollar bribery, misappropriation of public funds, and diversion of funds totaling $413,000 and N1.38 billion.
