The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has officially announced details of his funeral and burial arrangements following his tragic passing earlier this month.
According to the funeral programme released by the family, burial activities for the actor will conclude on June 18, 2026, in Arochukwu, Abia State.
The late actor reportedly passed away on May 11 after battling advanced metastatic kidney cancer, a revelation that shocked fans, colleagues, and the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Service of Songs to Hold in Lagos
As part of the funeral arrangements, a service of songs will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos, from 4 pm to 6 pm. Guests attending the event are expected to wear white.
The family described the late actor as a man remembered for his warmth, generosity, laughter, and devotion to loved ones.
Wake Keep Scheduled for Abia State
The funeral activities will continue on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, with a wake keep at the Ekubo family residence located at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.
The funeral service and interment are scheduled for Thursday, June 18, 2026, in Arochukwu. A reception will follow immediately after the burial ceremony at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village.
