Access Holdings Plc (the Holdco) has announced the return of Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede as its Non-Executive Chairman.
Following the untimely passing of the immediate past Group Chief Executive Officer, Herbert Wigwe, the Holdco Board unanimously invited Aig-Imoukhuede to lead the governance.
Aig-Imoukhuede replaces Abubakar Jimoh, the former Chairman, who remains on the Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
The HoldCo hailed Aig-Imoukhuede as a visionary leader with an impressive track record and wealth of expertise. During his tenure as Group CEO of Access Bank from 2002 to 2013, he oversaw remarkable growth, transforming the bank into a top-tier financial institution.
Under his leadership, Access Bank expanded its customer base, employee count, and asset base, becoming a globally recognized name.
After retiring from Access Bank in 2013, Aig-Imoukhuede founded the Tengen Family Office Limited and the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, focusing on investment management and philanthropy, respectively.
His return as Non-Executive Chairman reflects the Board’s commitment to building upon the foundation established with Dr. Wigwe. Aig-Imoukhuede expressed excitement about his return and pledged to work towards realizing the shared vision of the Access Group.
Abubakar Jimoh, the past Chairman, expressed enthusiasm about Aig-Imoukhuede’s appointment, highlighting it as a landmark development. Aig-Imoukhuede, in turn, expressed confidence in delivering value to stakeholders and realizing the shared vision.
The Access Group eagerly anticipates his return, expecting a promising future under his leadership, characterized by impact and sustainable success.
