In the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, a notable 174 students from Deeper Life High School achieved impressive scores of 300 and above.
The school proudly announced this achievement through its official Facebook handle, @Deeper Life High School.
“Despite JAMB’s announcement that only around 0.5% of candidates nationwide scored 300 and above in the 2024 UTME, an astounding one hundred and seventy-four (174) students of DLHS exceeded expectations with flying colours by scoring 300 and above,” the school said in the post.
Leading the pack this year is Ayeyemi Godsgift Ibukunoluwa, who secured a remarkable total of 362 points out of 400, setting a high standard for academic excellence.
It’s worth noting that the school also produced the highest scorer in the 2023 UTME, Umeh Kamsiyochukwu, with an outstanding total of 360 points.
Meanwhile, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board reported that a significant number of candidates, totaling 1,402,490 out of 1,842,464, failed to attain the minimum score of 200 out of 400.
The board, led by its registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, clarified that the UTME primarily serves as a ranking examination and thus refrains from disclosing the identities of the highest-scoring candidates.
Furthermore, the board cautioned against the presentation of printed result slips, as the results are currently exclusively available in digital format.
