The newly appointed Director General of the Standard Organization of Nigeria, Ifeanyi Okeke has revealed strategies which he deem fit for the sale of locally produced goods.
Replacing Mallam Farouk Salim who was the former Director General of the Standard Organization of Nigeria, Ifeanyi affirms that there are ways in which local products that boom in the foreign market.
According to information gathered by The Punch News Paper, Ifeanyi reaffirms the entire public that he is committee to creating opportunities that will eradicate poverty and set the export industry afloat
His intention cut across scaling Small and Medium Sized enterprises to cutting-edge laboratories, with the total aim to increase exportation profitability in the country’s economy.
He agreed that he has received a baton of stewardship and assured that he will review the handover documents in order to know where to begin.
His statement reads:
“I have received the baton of stewardship today; my immediate priority will be to review the handover notes quickly to achieve our objectives timely,”
Furthermore, he appreciated the President Tinubu and also recognized the works done by his predecessor and pledged to ensure that commodities produced are up to standard with international methods.
Also, he said:
“Stakeholder engagements shall form critical pillars of my administration while encouraging the micro, small, and medium scale enterprises, as they are the engine drivers of the nation’s economy and growth.
“We are going to encourage the industry operators to take the issue of product testing as a very key element to productivity and economic growth,”
Assuring the country, he also affirms that he will safeguard the country from inferior goods and stressed the significance of product testing before releasing into the market.
“I remain ever grateful for this opportunity while soliciting the support of all in this important mandate,”
While readdressing the mandate, he evidently requested the support of everyone as he carries on with the mandate.
