There has been an update on Covid-19, First case of Coronavirus confirmed in Nigeria.It was recently discovered in Lagos. The case is an Italian who works in Lagos Nigeria, and returned from Milan Italy.
According to the Federal Ministry of health, in a press release,
Coronavirus (Covid 19) case was confirmed in Lagos on the 27th of February,2020. The first case in Nigeria and in Sub Saharan Africa.
The patient is receiving treatment at the Infectious disease hospital in Yaba Lagos. According to the Heslth Ministry he is Stable and not showing any serious signs of the symptoms.
Two cases of the Covid 19 disease have surfaced in Africa.One in Egypt and one in Algeria. A situation which has puzzled the World health Organization, given the Continents ties with China
The World Health Organisation has warned that most Hospitals in Africa are ill equipped to contain the Coronavirus disease.should an outbreak proliferate in the Continent.
