The Coronavirus outbreak which started in Wuhan China seems to be rising with a death toll of over a thousand. Egypt Records the First case of Coronavirus in Africa.

China seems to be suffering a big blow now as it is pertinent to note that most countries have placed restrictions on travellers coming in from China.

As Egypt Records the First case of Coronavirus in Africa, the health ministty in Egypt says the individual affected with the coronavirus is a foreigner and is being hospitalized and in isolation.

As China battles to contain the Virus which has a death toll of about 1,400, and 65,000 persons infected globally, it has so far recorded 3 deaths outside mainland China. One in Hong Kong, one in the Phillipines and ths most recent in Japan.

Officials in Egypt were able to detect the symptoms of the disease from the individual affected through their travlers follow up programme implemented by the Egyptian  Government.

The travellers  Follow up programme, an initiative by the Egyptian government tends to screen and follow up with travellers especially those arriving from countries where the Virus has spread.

Fhe Coronavirus which is Officially known as COVID-19 by the World Health Organisation was first discovered in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province in Central China in December last year.
