Nigerian entertainer Speed Darlington has reignited his long-running feud with Burna Boy, saying he would confront the Grammy-winning singer if they meet in the same place.
Speed Darlington made the remarks during a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, where he said he has no relationship with Burna Boy and would not hesitate to engage him in a physical confrontation.
The rapper, popularly known as Akpi, also expressed interest in facing Burna Boy inside a boxing ring after his upcoming celebrity boxing match against Carter Efe.
According to Speed Darlington, if he defeats Carter Efe, he would like Burna Boy to become his next opponent.
“Me and Burna Boy have no relationship. If Burna Boy enters any room that I am present in, I will fight and jump on him. If I win the forthcoming boxing match between me and Carter Efe, I hope Burna Boy will be next,” he said.

The latest comments add another chapter to the highly publicised dispute between the two Nigerian entertainers.
Speed Darlington has repeatedly spoken about Burna Boy in public since their feud escalated into legal proceedings.
His latest remarks, however, come as he prepares for a confirmed boxing bout against Carter Efe on October 1 in Lagos.
The celebrity boxing contest will take place at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, as part of the Chaos in the Ring event. The fight is scheduled to be streamed live on DAZN.
Speed Darlington wants Burna Boy next
Rather than limiting his attention to his upcoming fight with Carter Efe, Speed Darlington used the interview to identify Burna Boy as a potential future opponent.
He suggested that a boxing match with Burna Boy could settle their differences in the ring.
However, there is currently no confirmed boxing agreement between Speed Darlington and Burna Boy.
The proposed fight remains Speed Darlington’s stated desire rather than an officially announced bout.
His comments have nevertheless generated fresh discussion among Nigerian entertainment fans, particularly because of the history between the two artists.
Carter Efe fight comes first
Before any potential encounter with Burna Boy, Speed Darlington must first face Carter Efe.
The October 1 contest will be the first time the two entertainers meet inside the boxing ring.
Carter Efe enters the bout after defeating singer Portable by unanimous decision in May, while Speed Darlington previously faced Portable in 2025 and lost by technical knockout after failing to answer the bell for the second round.
The upcoming contest is therefore another opportunity for Speed Darlington to establish himself in Nigeria’s growing celebrity boxing scene.
The fight has already attracted considerable attention because of the personalities involved and the heated exchanges that have accompanied the build-up.
Burna Boy feud has a legal history
The disagreement between Speed Darlington and Burna Boy has previously gone beyond social media exchanges.
Speed Darlington was arrested and later remanded in connection with allegations involving statements he made about Burna Boy. He was subsequently granted bail, while reports indicate that the matter remains before the court.
The dispute began after Speed Darlington made allegations concerning Burna Boy and American music executive Sean “Diddy” Combs, including claims connected to Burna Boy’s Grammy Award.
Those allegations have been disputed, and they remain part of the background to the entertainers’ strained relationship.
Another chapter in celebrity boxing
His latest comments come at a time when celebrity boxing continues to attract major attention in Nigeria.
The Chaos in the Ring series has brought entertainers with existing public rivalries into the boxing ring, combining celebrity entertainment with competitive bouts.
The October 1 event will also feature professional boxing contests, including a bout involving Nigerian cruiserweight Godday “Zodsolo” Appah and Ghanaian-born British boxer Seth “Freezy Macbones” Gyimah.
However, the immediate focus remains Carter Efe.
If his comments are any indication, the rapper is already thinking beyond October 1 and has Burna Boy in mind as a potential future opponent.
For now, though, there is no confirmed fight between the two musicians, and Burna Boy has not publicly announced an agreement to face Speed Darlington in the ring.
