A British mother of two has reportedly been abducted in broad daylight in Malawi, prompting a major search operation as authorities appeal to the public for information that could help locate her.

Nusrat Osman, 47, was reportedly kidnapped at around 12:30 p.m. local time on Friday, September 11, in Blantyre, Malawi.

According to local reports, four men allegedly carried out the abduction before fleeing the area in a grey Nissan Dualis.

Osman was reportedly working for a local auditing firm when she was abducted.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation, with authorities yet to establish a confirmed motive for the kidnapping.

Reports indicate that the alleged abductors have not contacted Osman’s family or authorities with a ransom demand or other communication.

The lack of contact has added to concerns surrounding the case as investigators continue searching for information about her whereabouts.

Husband appeals for information

Osman’s husband has reportedly expressed uncertainty over what happened to his wife and said he had no known dispute with anyone.

Speaking to local outlet Nyasa Times, he said he did not know where she was or what condition she was in.

“My wife is an auditor, and I have no issues with anyone,” he reportedly said.

His comments underline the uncertainty surrounding the circumstances of the disappearance, particularly because no clear motive has been publicly established.

Police seek help from the public

Authorities are reportedly intensifying their efforts to gather information from members of the public.

Investigators have been sending text messages seeking leads that could help identify the vehicle and people connected to the alleged abduction.

The reward of more than £12,600 is intended to encourage people with credible information to come forward.

Authorities are particularly interested in information that could help locate Osman and ultimately lead to the prosecution of those responsible.

No confirmed motive yet

At the time of reporting, investigators had not publicly established why Osman was allegedly targeted.

There has also been no reported communication from the alleged kidnappers demanding money or making other requests.

Until investigators establish the circumstances of the incident, claims about who may be responsible or why Osman was abducted should be treated as unconfirmed.

The priority for authorities remains finding the missing woman and establishing what happened to her.

Concern grows over missing mother

Osman’s disappearance has generated concern because the alleged kidnapping reportedly happened during the middle of the day rather than under the cover of darkness.

The reported use of a vehicle to flee the scene is also expected to form part of the investigation as authorities work to establish the route taken after the alleged abduction.

Investigators may rely on eyewitness accounts, vehicle information, CCTV footage and other evidence as they attempt to reconstruct what happened.

For Osman’s family, the immediate concern remains her safe return.

Investigation continues

Police and other authorities are continuing efforts to obtain information that could lead them to Osman.

Members of the public who may have witnessed suspicious activity around the time of the reported kidnapping or have information about the grey Nissan Dualis have reportedly been urged to contact investigators.

The circumstances of the case remain developing, and further information could emerge as the investigation progresses.

For now, Osman’s family and authorities are waiting for credible information that could help determine where she is and bring her safely home.
