Nigerian music star Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has opened up about the one thing he regrets most in life, revealing that his late mother never got the opportunity to watch him perform on stage.
The singer made the emotional revelation during an episode of the Brut Podcast, where he reflected on his relationship with his parents and the sacrifices they made while supporting his rise to international stardom.
According to Mr Eazi, his mother was a conservative woman who strongly disliked travelling, making it difficult for him to take her along as his music career expanded across different countries.
Mr Eazi regrets his mother never saw him perform
Speaking about his biggest regret, Mr Eazi said he wished his mother had been able to experience one of his live performances before her death.
“My only regret in life is that my mom never got to watch me perform on stage before she passed away,” the singer said.
He explained that his mother rarely travelled and was uncomfortable even with relatively short trips.
“She was very conservative in her life in general. She didn’t like travelling, not even from Lagos to Accra,” he recalled.
As his career developed, however, Mr Eazi found himself travelling extensively across the world for concerts, festivals and other performances.
The distance and his mother’s reluctance to travel meant she never witnessed the atmosphere of one of her son’s major live shows.
His mother supported him through prayers
Although she never attended his performances, Mr Eazi said his mother remained one of his biggest supporters.
Rather than following him physically around the world, she supported his career through prayers and encouragement.
“But she always supported me with prayers,” he said.
For the singer, that spiritual support remained meaningful even though he wished she could have seen him perform in person.
