The Lagos State Special Offences Court has granted controversial Nigerian relationship expert and social media personality, Blessing CEO, bail in the sum of N20 million as she continues to face trial over an alleged N69.15 million fraud case instituted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The ruling comes approximately six weeks after the relationship therapist was remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre following her arraignment on fraud-related charges.
Justice Rahman Oshodi, who presided over the matter, approved the bail application on Thursday but attached strict conditions, including travel restrictions, to ensure the defendant remains available throughout the trial.

In his ruling, Justice Oshodi ordered that Blessing CEO be released on bail in the sum of N20 million with two responsible sureties in like amount.
The court further directed that each surety must provide evidence of financial capacity by presenting proof of deposits valued at N20 million maintained over a period of at least three years.
The judge explained that the conditions were necessary to guarantee the defendant’s attendance in court as proceedings continue.
The bail approval means Blessing CEO can regain her freedom once all the court’s requirements have been fulfilled.
Nigerian Immigration Service ordered to enforce travel restrictions
Apart from the financial conditions attached to the bail, the court also imposed restrictions on Blessing CEO’s movement.
Justice Oshodi directed the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) to ensure that she does not leave Nigeria without the approval of the court while the criminal proceedings remain ongoing.
Travel restrictions are commonly imposed in high-profile criminal cases involving financial crimes to reduce the possibility of defendants absconding before judgment is delivered.
The restriction will remain in force until the court decides otherwise or the trial concludes.
EFCC accuses Blessing CEO of obtaining N69.15 million by false pretence
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arraigned Blessing CEO before the court on June 9, 2026, accusing her of fraudulently obtaining N69,150,000 from Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited.
According to the anti-graft agency, the money was allegedly collected in March 2025 under the pretext of securing a lease for a property located in the Lekki area of Lagos.
The commission alleged that the representation made to the company was false and that the funds were obtained through deceptive means.
Based on these allegations, the EFCC filed a two-count charge against the social media personality.
Charges against the relationship expert
Blessing CEO is currently facing charges bordering on:
- Obtaining money by false pretences.
- Stealing.
When the charges were read during her arraignment, she pleaded not guilty, maintaining that she committed no offence.
Her legal representatives have continued to challenge the allegations while insisting that she remains innocent until proven guilty by the court.
Trial adjourned until October
Although the bail application has now been determined, the substantive hearing of the criminal case is still ongoing.
Justice Oshodi adjourned the matter until October 12, 2026, when the prosecution and defence are expected to continue presenting their evidence before the court.
The adjournment provides both legal teams additional time to prepare witnesses and documentary evidence that may be relied upon during the trial.
Public reactions trail the ruling
The court’s decision has generated widespread discussion across social media platforms.
Many supporters welcomed the ruling, arguing that every Nigerian is entitled to the constitutional presumption of innocence until proven guilty by a competent court.
Others, however, pointed to the stringent bail conditions as an indication of the seriousness of the allegations.
The travel restriction, in particular, has attracted attention, with legal observers noting that it is a common safeguard in cases involving substantial financial transactions.
Blessing CEO remains a controversial public figure
Blessing CEO has built a large following on social media through relationship advice, motivational content and commentary on celebrity issues.
Over the years, she has remained one of Nigeria’s most talked-about internet personalities, frequently making headlines over controversial opinions and public disputes.
Her latest legal battle has further intensified public interest in her activities, with many Nigerians closely following developments in the case.
Allegations yet to be proven
Despite the ongoing prosecution, it is important to emphasise that the allegations against Blessing CEO have not been proven in court.
Her not guilty plea means the burden remains on the prosecution to establish the charges beyond the standard required by law.
Until the court reaches a final decision, she remains an accused person rather than a convicted offender.
As the trial resumes in October, both the prosecution and defence are expected to present additional evidence that will assist the court in determining the outcome of the case.
For now, Blessing CEO’s release depends on meeting the bail conditions imposed by the court, while the Nigerian Immigration Service continues to enforce the travel restrictions pending the conclusion of the trial.
