A Nigerian Senior Lecturer in Strategy,Nottingham Business school Dr Dipo Awojide popularly known as “Ogbeni” has a sound advise for young men.
He went on social media and posted on his Twitter handle advising young men “that under no circumstance should your family disrespect your wife
He further shared “if they try it you need to urgently clear their doubt.well except you endorse such disrespect”
Some young men when they get married fail to address such issues, when his family members or a particular family member dislikes his wife and disrespects her.
Some find themselves in difficult situations and would not know whose side to be on. Sweeping the matter under the carpet and expecting things to work out on its own might not be feasible.
The implications of ignoring such might be enormous, Such situations should be dealt with assiduously and not endorsed consciously or otherwise.
Yes, it could be a bit disheartening when you see people who you love,don’t get along. You are sometimes caught in the middle between your wife and your family.
The best strategy is when you notice such attitude you will have to discuss and clear issues with your family as well as helping your wife Understand your family and develop strategies and ways in dealing with them to maintain peace.
This will help in making the relationship with both parties civil and respectful.
This situation should be addressed as early as possible and not allowed to linger.
