Some school children were reportedly adopted by unknown kidnappers in Emure Local Government Area of Ekiti State on Monday, 29th January 2024.
The incident occurred at the Eporo-Ekiti boundary, where a certain number of students in their school bus were adopted by unknown gunmen.
The name of the school is yet to be disclosed as the police are still making their findings to ascertain the school name and the total number of students that were taken by the unknown gunmen.
The incident occurred following the attack on three traditional rulers of Ekiti State. Two of the traditional rulers were killed, and one of them escaped. On this issue, the police are bent on finding the killers and bringing them to justice as demanded by the law.
The traditional leaders who lost their lives during the attack were;
Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola, the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti and Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola, the Elesun of Esun Ekiti.
Following the trail of insecurity in Ekiti state, the governor, Biodun Oyebanji has ordered all the security measures to fall fully into action and put an end to the menace of murder and kidnapping that is threatening the peace of the citizens.
