Olalekan Okeola, a 36 year Nigeria, who is a member of the Nigerian Tribune Newspapers was arrested for allegedly stealing 26 car batteries worth N2.1 million.
Olalekan was detained in the Iyaganku Magistrates’s Court in Ibadan. According to Inspector Gbemi Adedeji, Okeola was charged with theft on January 15th, 2024 around 9:00 AM at Ibadan; his residential address remained undisclosed.
Gbemi disclosed that the accused had stolen car batteries belonging to the Tribune company, the offence was contrary to the Criminal Law code of Oyo State, 2000. The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge levied against him.
He was granted bail of N200,000 by the Magistrate Adebola Adeola with other two sureties of about N200k. The case was adjourn to February 15, 2024.
