The Osubi community in Delta State was plunged into mourning on Wednesday, May 8, following the untimely deaths of three teenage boys.
Isaac, Alex, and Ese, tragically lost their lives after inhaling fumes from a generator left running overnight in their single-room apartment. Despite rescue efforts, one of the boys, initially alive but in critical condition, succumbed to the effects of the toxic fumes.
The heartbreaking incident occurred as the boys, fearing theft, placed the generator inside their windowless room. Unfortunately, this decision proved fatal as the enclosed space allowed the fumes to accumulate, leading to a tragic outcome. It is reported that the mother of one of the deceased boys manages a nearby restaurant in the area.
As the community reels from the shock of the loss, authorities, including the Delta Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe, have yet to provide official comments on the devastating incident.
