Actor Ali Nuhu, the director of the Nigerian Film Corporation emphasizes the importance of quality filmmaking in the Nigerian film industry.
Ali Nuhu implied that the Nigerian film industry can play a pivotal role in placing Nigeria on a global map with quality film production. Ali expressed that the highlight ought to be about 70% but currently, we are experiencing a poor rating of 30-35%.
He said;
“If you look at the films we produce in Nigeria’s film industry, you would see that only 30-35% meet desired quality as against 70-75%. So I will focus on this by making sure we are more educated and the provisions of quality equipment.”
The actor stated clearly that the need for quality movies is his ambition. He expressed that he desires to see the industry on the global stage and that quality education and access to equipment will help to achieve this aim.
He went further to express that certain individuals in the industry have contributed greatly to the decline of the value of Nigerian movies.
He said;
“Some bad eggs in the industry have given Nigeria a bad name, so through these films, we will restore our integrity.“
This implies that if the industry can be filtered and the negative contributors are purged from the industry, the Nigerian film industry will stand the chance of attracting more revenue and growth to the Nigerian economy and entertainment industry.
