In Ogun State, Segamu region, the DSS (Department of State Services agents) have detained 6 cult members deemed to be suspects of cult killings in the region.
According to reports, they were taken into custody at the home of a member of the Ogun State House Assembly, Hon. Damilare Bello.
Recall that last week, some members of the Eiye and Aiye cult groups had a clash that resulted in the deaths.
Rumour has it that the lawmaker allegedly gave the cult group a place to stay.
Currently the DSS, has detained the following persons:
- Debbo Animashaun
- Ismaila Onitire
- Adewale Otesanya
- Tobi Owoade
- Damilare Bello Mohammed aka DRE
- Bamidele Saheed.
These detained suspects were caught on the legislator’s property and being questioned right away.
Also, recall that about 10 banks and public properties were destroyed in the protest by irate youths and also, the DSS had detained Hon. Bello for aiding the violent demonstration against CBN’s naira redesign policy in Segamu, in February 2023.
The arrested 6 members were said to possess dangerous weapons including guns and machetes.
