The sister of former president Goodluck Jonathan has passed away.
Obebhatein, also referred to as Amissi, had passed away on Thursday, 11 January, 2024 at the Federal Medical Center in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Amissi was a businesswoman, a mother, teacher and a grandmother. According to Goodluck Jonathan’s media officer, she was aged 70 years old.
He wrote:
“She was a devout Christian, a virtuous woman and a role model to many within and outside her community,”
Also, a statement released, explained that the burial will take place on Tuesday 16, February 2024. Further information regarding the place of burial ceremonies and cause of death will be told to the public by the family in due time.
Jonathan was consoled by President Almed Bola Tinubu, who expressed his condolences to the entire family of the deceased, who also persuaded Jonathan to find comfort in the deeds of Amissi and her selfless devotion to serving God and humanity.
