A bold assertion from House of Representatives member Chinedu Ogah suggests that President Bola Tinubu stands unmatched among opposition figures gearing up for the 2027 presidential race.

Representing the lkwo/Ezza South federal constituency of Ebonyi State and serving as chairman of the House Committee on Reformatory Institutions, Ogah dismissed swirling rumors regarding an alleged coalition between former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP.

According to Ogah, these rumors pose no threat to President Tinubu’s potential reelection in 2027.

Speaking to journalists in Abakaliki, the APC lawmaker confidently asserted that he has yet to encounter any politician in the country capable of challenging Tinubu, citing the latter’s exemplary performance and proven track record.

Ogah emphasized Tinubu’s deep understanding of the nation’s challenges and his proactive efforts to address them. In Ogah’s words:

“President Tinubu is doing perfectly well; he is doing very well. You may hate Tinubu but he is doing well in his administration, tackling the challenges in the country.

The President has made us legislators sit up and every legislator is busy in his/her constituency attending to the people’s needs because 2023 has shown that if you are not on ground, the people will vote you out.

The rural people that were regarded as illiterates are now more learned than us and they now know how to vote and who to vote for in an election. If you are not representing well, the people will vote you out.

So, the President is doing very well and that was why most of us were singing his praises to come into power because he knows the problems of the country and how to solve them, and he is solving them.

Who is contesting against the President in 2027? Who will run against him? I have even endorsed the President for 2027 and I have not seen anybody that will match him. I have not seen anybody that will match Tinubu in 2027; forget the noise on social media some people are making. Is it El-Rufai who could not win Kaduna, his state, that will match him? He is not an issue if he is running.”

His son, Adetunji Bello, confirmed the sad news, revealing that the juju legend died peacefully in his sleep—just a day after celebrating his birthday. For many Nigerians, especially those who lived through the golden era of the 1970s and 1980s, the name Ahuja Bello evokes nostalgia. His music was the sound of celebration, a rhythm that echoed at weddings, naming ceremonies, and late-night parties. His passing is not only a personal loss for his family but also a cultural one for Nigeria’s rich musical heritage. Born on August 24, 1942, in Iseyin, Oyo State, Ahuja Bello was destined for music. Juju, a genre deeply rooted in Yoruba tradition, became the canvas on which he painted his artistry. Unlike many who treated music as a side hustle, Bello embraced it as a calling.
