President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, bestowed national honors upon 17 fallen members of the Nigerian Army, who tragically lost their lives in Delta State on March 14, 2024.

During the solemn burial ceremony at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja, he also unveiled significant measures to support the bereaved families, including the provision of housing accommodations and scholarships for all their children up to university level.
Also, he directed the prompt disbursement of death benefits to the families within 90 days.
Among the honorees, Lt. Col. A.H Ali, Maj S.D Shafa, Maj D.E Obi, and Capt U Zakari were posthumously conferred the national honor of Member of the Order of the Niger, while others received the Officer of the Order of the Niger distinction.
