The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited has announced that the 60,000 bpd Port Harcourt refinery’s test-runs are to be completed this month, January 2024.
The test is believed to be a significant part of the procedure after the five year closure. The facility’s Area-5 Plant repair work has reached mechanical completion, as the state-owned oil firm.
Femi Soneye the NNPC Spokesperson said:
“Testing will conclude shortly, ensuring the refinery’s efficient operation. That phase will be completed this month,”
The minister of state for petroleum resources, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, said that the first phase of the PHRC was finished on December 20, 2023, and that the manufacture of refined goods will begin after the festive seasons.
