The Oyo State Government has organized a one day programme with the commercial tricycle and motorcycle operators within the state.
Declaring open the sensitization exercise in the state capital, the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade buttressed the need for a proper registration of motorcycles, tricycles before venturing into the market.
In attendance, various leaders of tricycles and motorcycle riders from different zones of the state including Motor Transport Union of Nigeria, Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners, Park Management System and others all grazed the programme to attain cordial sensitization for enhancement.
He expressed that the meeting will foster the documentation of riders in the state and to keep trail of security in the state.
According to Mrs. Bukola Omosanya, the consultant in charge of the registration exercise, the documentation will enhance public safety and restore integrity to registered motorcycle riders in the state.
The commissioner called for a sustained cooperation between motorcycle and tricycle riders and the state government for a mutually beneficial relationship to improve the security of the state and its economy at large.
