The Rivers State All Progressive Congress (APC) has made their window open for defectors from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Following the 27 defectors of the People’s Democratic Party members into the All Progressive Congress, former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike say that this is a welcome development.
On Monday, the Spokesperson, Chibuike Ikenga said the state will be effectively governed especially with the number of lawmakers in APC.
In his words:
“In an earlier interview, I did mention that our doors are open to welcoming anybody who is willing to be part of us.
“We are happy about this (lawmakers defection), and we expect that others will join so that we can swell the ranks of the APC and run the state properly. The defection of the lawmakers is a welcome development.”
According to reports, 27 members of PDP defected to APC, and the lawmakers blamed their defection to APC on the internal PDP conflicts.
