Prominent socio-political advocate and key figure in the Labour Party, Aisha Yesufu, has criticized the Edo State Government, accusing them of falling short in addressing the security challenges gripping the region.
Expressing her concern on Thursday via her verified social media handle, Aisha responded to the tragic killing of a female farmer in the state. The activist highlighted the distressing situation in Etsako West, emphasizing that women there are now hesitant to engage in farming activities out of fear of either facing assault or falling victim to ruthless attackers.
The post reads, “Most of the women in Etsako West no longer go to farms for fear of being raped or killed. Abductions on the farms are on the high.
“Men that now go to farms face abduction yet the Edo State Government is busy on policies that can be deciphered by experts.”
