The Lagos State Police Command has made known to the public that late singer Mohbad’s autopsy result has not been submitted to them.
Following an outrage on social media by netizens about the result of the autopsy conducted on the body of late singer Mohbad, when calculated it became exactly two months as of today 21 November, 2023.
The fans of the late singer Mohbad, who had died in a questionable manner on the 12, September 2023 are still clamouring for the autopsy result. According to the Lagos State Police Command, they do not lay accusations based on claims hence their delay in pronouncing anyone totally responsible for the singer’s death.
The police also claimed that they have not received any official result about the autopsy and as soon as they do, it will be made known to the public.
Updating on the autopsy, the state police public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed to The Punch newspaper on Monday, November 20, that the command had not officially received the report.
Hundeyin said:
“The autopsy report has not been given to us. Some people have been carrying rumours that it’s ready. It’s one thing for it to be ready, it’s another thing for it to be given to us officially – that we would receive and sign a copy that we have received it. So, we don’t work with rumours, we work with facts.”
Hundeyin added that only the singer’s family lawyer can request the release of the autopsy result from the pathologists. Otherwise, it will be provided independently to the police once it is ready.
Hence, the police beseeches the public to stay calm while we all wait for the pathologists to officially submit the report to the police.
