Maureen Esisi, the ex-wife of Nollywood actor Blossom Chukwujekwu, has revealed that they are still legally married.
In an interview with The House Chronicles, she disclosed that she never signed any divorce papers. Despite Blossom’s recent remarriage, their marriage remains intact legally.
Maureen explained that their separation occurred well before it became public knowledge, emphasizing that a formal divorce requires the signing of legal documents.
Maureen and Blossom married in 2015, but their relationship fell apart in 2019 due to irreconcilable differences.
She also expressed her frustration with her former in-laws, particularly Blossom’s mother, who discouraged her from seeking a divorce.
However, when Blossom decided to end the relationship, his family accepted it without issue.
“My separation happened way before it went public. I am not divorced; technically, I am still married. When you say you are divorced, it means you signed papers, right?” Maureen stated.
Maureen further defended Blossom, acknowledging him as a good person despite their differences.
“I always defended him, not because I had to, but because, regardless of what happened, he is a good person,” she said. She also criticized the notion that Blossom “dodged a bullet” with her, suggesting that the opposite could be true.
“People say he dodged a bullet with me, but that’s extreme because if we really want to analyze things on paper, I dodged a bullet.”
