The man accused by his wife of abandoning her in the hospital during the birth of their baby has spoken out.
On Wednesday, May 15, his wife shared a story on social media about receiving a donation from a Facebook user to pay for her cesarean section (CS).
According to her, her husband initially objected to the CS, took her home, and gave her herbal medicine to drink. When her condition worsened, she returned to the hospital and gave her husband N240,000 from the donated funds to pay for the procedure.
However, she claimed he left without paying, forcing her to give the remaining money to her husband’s sister to cover the surgery costs.
She further alleged that upon his return, his sister confronted him and threatened to arrest him. It was then, she said, that he admitted to using the money to buy a phone and a dog.
After the birth of their daughter, she added, her husband abandoned her in Alimosho General Hospital, Igando.
Today, the husband shared his side of the story on Facebook. He claimed his wife’s behavior changed as soon as she received the large donation for their child’s birth from the kind-hearted Facebook user.
He also stated that his wife had only sent him N100,000, which he used for medical tests and drugs.
He wrote: “Since the very minutes Obol Jesam Michael came to our rescue, my wife started displaying caprices that she can shout at me to the extent nurses and some patient have to beg me to ignore her. If you know my wife closely, you should know the kind of person she is.”
“My wife I love so much. A woman I went against lots of advice to marry. Why will I abandon my first blood?” He continued: “Even if she wants to be pitited for more donations, I don’t deserve blackmail to further her cause.”
