The celebrity car dealer Ikechukwu, was charged with involuntary manslaughter before the High Court of Lagos, Ikeja.
Ikechukwu Ogbonna also known as IVD has found himself in a court case filed by the Lagos State Government, before the High Court of Lagos, Ikeja, through the Directorate of the Public Prosecution (DPP)
The allegation originated from an incident that resulted in the murder of his wife late Abimbola Ikechukwu Obonna at his house in Lekki on October 15th, 2022. The first charge was increased by another count charge. The Directorate of the Public Prosecution has now charged the auto dealer with involuntary manslaughter, which is a violation of Section 299 of the Lagos Criminal Code.
The accused, Ikechukwu Ogbanna has entered a ‘not guilty’ plea in response to the charges levied against him. The trial has begun before Justice Module Nicole-Clay.
The case file’s index, entry, minute sheet, statement of the complainant’s witness, certified true copy (CTC), of the petition, and a copy of the signal to the Ajah Police Station were all admitted as exhibits by Justice Modupe Nicole-Clay.
Currently, the presiding judge, Justice Modupe Nicole-Clay has adjourned the case to December 13, 2023.
