Lagos is ranked number five best cities to live and work in. This is according to a report by Brand Finance City from 2023.
The report has it that Lagos state Nigeria has a survey report of 56% as Casablanca, Morocco, Johannesburg, South Africa and Cape Town, South Africa all respectively had 63, 60, 59, and 59.
The only six African nations to be listed among the top 100 cities in the world are Cape Town, Cairo, Johannesburg, Casablanca, Lagos, and Nairobi, which are ranked 60, 67, 72, 76, 90, and 94 on the global rankings.
In world’s best city ranking, London is said to have the best rank with a score of 84.6%, while New York and Paris are ranked second and third with respective rank of 83.0% and 79.7%.
According to the report, “The ranking is based on a global survey of nearly 15,000 people conducted in April 2023 in 20 countries across all continents to measure perceptions of the world’s top 100 cities.”
Chairman and CEO of Brand Finance, David Haigh, commented on the survey by saying:
“London’s success in the overall ranking as the best city in the world is due to its first place finish on this particular measure, giving it a significant advantage over its competitors.”
