Following the report on the issue of the impeachment of Governor Sim Fubara by the Rivers State House of Assembly, Fubara addresses the crowd.
Recall that jennysoul has reported earlier today, the fire outbreak at the Rivers State House of Assembly and the impeachment of the state governor.
The governor addresses a group of crowds today concerning his impeachment. He stated clearly that any impeachment attempt that is not justified will be resisted.
While speaking, he expressed that he has no idea of his crime that has warranted impeachment. But however, they should bring it on.
He stated that he was tear gassed at by the police and poured water directly on by the people who were attempting to put out the fire at the State Complex while he was rushing to the scene of the fire outbreak at the House State of Assembly Complex.
In his words:
“I was shot at and tear gassed directly at, it doesn’t matter but one way or the other somebody will die, either you die in your house or on the road by something, but my journey today is, whatever it is that want to happen, let it happen.
If Sim Fubara is impeached, I am not the first, neither will I be the last, I am saying if it happens. But what is important is, any attempt that is not Justified will be resisted.
Let them come out and tell Rivers people that offence that I have committed, come out and tell the people that offence that Fubara committed that is warranting impeachment. My happiness this morning is that, people of Rivers State are represented here by everyone.
I can go home and sleep. Let me assure you people that we will continue to defend and protect you people and you will enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Let me thank you again. I don’t want to say more than this, at the appropriate time I will address the Press”.
The governor claimed that he has done nothing to warrant an impeachment and that whatever he has done should be brought to the notice of the public.
He assured the people of Rivers State that he will continue to protect and defend them and they will enjoy the dividends of democracy.
